Seminars

Our seminars include customizable formats including half-day, one-day or multi-day seminars.

Awareness and Cultural Understanding

Participants become aware of the benefits and challenges in working with other cultures.

Outcomes include enhanced understanding of the nature and impact of culture, the use of cultural generalizations, the problems with stereotypes, and the importance of "switching cultural shoes."

Assessment:  Effective Intercultural Communication

Effective communication across cultures involves key skill sets and self-assessment. Using the Cross-Cultural Adaptability Inventory (CCAI), participants assess their key intercultural skills, identifying both strengths and areas of improvement. Participants also become familiar with their Myers Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) and apply that insight to intercultural interaction.

Knowledge Base:  Culture General Framework

Participants build their intercultural competence through knowledge of key cultural value orientations such as identity, communication styles, view of power distance, openness to change and risk and view of time. This culture general approach is augmented by specific country knowledge as requested.

Application of the Tool Kit to Real World Situations

Participants engage in extensive discussion and application of the tool kit to individual and group contexts. This practice develops confidence in using the tools in real world situations.
